About the Role
The Leisure Team are passionate about benefitting the local community through sports and leisure activities. We are experts in our service and pride ourselves on our customer experience and inclusivity through affordable or complementary programmes reaching those that need it the most. The leisure team want to enrich all lives within Wandsworth leading on the needs of the community, delivering programmes that reach out to local places and people, removing barriers and increasing access to activity.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the operational tasks involved in the day-to-day running of the facility.
- Ensure the service is provided to the standards required by the organisation, Government Legislation, and governing body rulings.
- Maintain the facility and its contents.
- Assist with delivering a varied programme of activities for users.
- Attend to all routine office administration including answering queries, managing bookings, recording accidents/incidents, issuing tickets and passes, and recording daily attendance figures.
- Act as receptionist by taking entrance fees, operating the booking and management system, and balancing tills.
- Handle cash and valuables safely.
- Prepare the facility for competition and training, marking out sports pitches as required.
- Maintain and repair equipment as necessary.
- Issue and monitor the use of equipment.
- Maintain all facility areas by clearing litter and untidy articles.
- Maintain, keep clean, and tidy the facility including changing rooms, toilets, and outside areas.
- Carry out all cleaning duties as required.
- Maintain and attend to vending machines.
- Take deliveries of goods and equipment.
- Ensure the premises are secure when locking up at night and be responsible for keys.
- Liaise with relevant officers to ensure the general security, upkeep, and maintenance of the facility.
- Liaise with clubs, associations, and schools to promote and encourage facility use.
- Assist in managing a balanced programme of activities.
- Perform other duties to improve or develop the facility consistent with the role's grade and service needs.
- Participate in the Staff Development and Appraisal Scheme and undertake training.
- Administer first aid in the event of an accident and ensure safety requirements are met.
- Assume responsibility for the site in the absence of management.
- Assist in carrying out duties at other sites as determined by the Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible shift system including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Commitment to complying with all Enable Leisure and Culture Codes of practice, including code of conduct, data protection, and health and safety policies.

- Ability to create and maintain a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
- Full awareness of duties and responsibilities related to the Children’s Act 2004, London Child Protection Procedures, and Working Together regarding child protection and safeguarding.
- Full awareness of safeguarding principles for vulnerable adults.
- Ability to actively contribute to the Active Wandsworth strategy.
- Willingness to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading and level of the post.
