About the Role
TYLin is seeking a Water Engineering Designer to join our Water Sector team in Toronto, ON. This role supports project teams and clients in the design and planning of complex wastewater treatment and conveyance, and water treatment and distribution projects. The successful candidate will work under the direction of PMs or Client Managers, providing support for water and wastewater engineering projects and field investigation of existing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design and consulting for complex assignments, including hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, and cost estimating.
- Prepare design and construction documents for wastewater and water treatment facilities, and conveyance and distribution projects.
- Participate in assignments as a team member, sometimes in a lead role, providing peer mentorship.
- Attend regular meetings and present project deliverables to clients.
- Lead projects and participate in client management and proposal development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 5+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering consulting, including studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients.
- Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
- EIT licensure or P.Eng preferred.

- Strong communication skills
- Strong technical writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel spreadsheets
- Experience in the preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications, for complex water and sewer projects is preferred but not required.
- Experience in the study and design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water distribution and sewer collection linear assets is preferred but not required.
- Preparation of hydraulic design calculations and coordination of hydraulic modeling is preferred but not required.
- Experience in site design associated with urban infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
- Experience working on and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team with other engineers, including structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, architecture, etc. is preferred but not required.
