Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive callouts, and emergency breakdown repairs on commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration systems.
- Perform installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations, health & safety standards, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation via digital job management systems.
- Provide excellent customer service on-site, liaising with clients, store managers, and head office contacts.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency breakdowns outside standard working hours.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements
- F-Gas certification (Category 1) is essential.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- Knowledge of CO₂ refrigeration systems (transcritical/subcritical).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial refrigeration.
- Experience with retail refrigeration systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with major refrigeration brands (SCM, Hussmann, AHT, etc.).
