About the Role
Deliver vital support to residents across two leading London councils as a Financial Assessment Officer, acting as the technical point of contact for Adult Social Care (ASC) staff and providing advice on financial assessments.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance to ASC colleagues, clients, relatives, and solicitors on residential and non-residential financial assessments.
- Process financial assessment applications and correspondence accurately and efficiently, in accordance with policy and statutory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients (or their representatives) through home visits, telephone, email, or letter.
- Liaise with other council departments or external agencies as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory charging for Residential Care, non-residential charging policy and procedures, government regulations, welfare benefits, and IT systems.
- Keep up-to-date with changing benefit entitlements affecting service users.
- Provide advocacy on the availability of and how to apply for additional sources of income, including Pensions Credit, Disability Benefits, Housing Benefit, and Tax Credits.

- New hires will start at the minimum of the salary range.
