About the Role
GRID is building real-time prediction systems for competitive esports, powering live betting markets with continuously updated probabilities and specialty markets during matches. We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead the research, design, and improvement of our core predictive models, focusing on accuracy and profitability through advanced mathematics, statistical logic, and feature engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead Model R&D: Design, build, and optimise machine learning models and statistical frameworks for real-time odds and betting markets.
- Advanced Feature Engineering: Extract predictive signals from high-frequency esports telemetry to create structured modelling features.
- Build state-of-the-art models: Focus on model performance and probability calibration, designing rigorous backtesting frameworks.
- Develop Market Logic: Create mathematical rules and probabilistic derivations for complex derivative markets.
- Deploy real-time production systems: Ensure models are translated into production-grade pipelines and microservices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science, quantitative research, or statistical modelling.
- Deep, intuitive understanding of probability, statistics, and machine learning theory.
- Expert-level skills in the Python data stack, writing clean, production-grade code.
- Proven experience designing complex backtesting environments and defining custom evaluation metrics.
