About the Role
Cancer Research UK's retail teams are crucial in raising vital funds to beat cancer. This role supports the Shop Manager in the successful running of the South Woodford shop, focusing on inspiring volunteers, delivering excellent customer service, driving sales, and creating a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of the shop and lead the team in their absence.
- Inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Maximize sales and income through effective merchandising, stock management, and shop presentation.
- Deliver outstanding customer and supporter experiences that encourage repeat visits and donations.
- Help achieve key performance targets including donated stock, Gift Aid, sales, stock processing, and average selling price.
- Build strong relationships within the local community and support fundraising activities and events.
Requirements
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A positive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently when required.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in achieving sales targets.
- Experience supporting or leading teams, ideally including volunteers.
- Flexibility to work a rota that meets the needs of the business.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Satisfactory basic DBS check required.
