About the Role

Provide efficient, high-quality accounting support to internal and external customers, ensuring day-to-day compliance with established systems, controls, and FCA Rules, including CASS 5 and Financial Crime prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all debts are collected as soon as possible and all liabilities are settled within agreed credit terms.
  • Ensure all cash received is matched as soon as possible.
  • Ensure that all processes are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Ensure accounting ledgers are maintained in an up-to-date and accurate manner.
  • Produce accurate and timely management information on both a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Liaise regularly with other departments regarding outstanding queries, particularly cash queries.
  • Ensure all outstanding cash under query with Underwriters are chased on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare and despatch statements of accounts in accordance with account holders requirements and/or when requested by divisions.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records, accessible to all parties that require them.
  • Monitor client money payments to company stakeholders.
  • Notify appropriate individuals of potential bad debt exposures at the earliest possible stage and enlist assistance where appropriate.
  • Assist the IBA Department Manager and team with other duties, ad hoc tasks, and projects.
  • Champion the Price Forbes Re name and core values.
  • Represent Price Forbes Re with clients, agents, suppliers, and other organisations.
  • Comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and Ardonagh compliance requirements, Errors and Omissions (E&O) compliance procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Escalate any potential E&O's to Divisional Directors and the Legal & Compliance team at the earliest opportunity.

Requirements

  • A good knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers.
  • A good knowledge of FCA Rules CASS 5.
  • A good knowledge of general insurance and underlying legal principles.
  • A good knowledge of banking methods and accounting principles.
  • 5 years’ experience working in the insurance sector.

  • Develop and sustain good working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work supportively and jointly with colleagues.
  • Confident and effective telephone skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure when necessary.
  • Ability to construct written communications that are effective and meet business needs.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to.
  • Accurate data input skills.
  • IT Skills: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook.
  • Desirable IT Skills: Open Twins, Brokasure Desktop, Global XB and DXC platforms.
