About the Role

Provide a high-quality claims advocacy service, managing and settling claims within a large and growing cargo and stock throughput portfolio. This role involves acting as a strategic partner to drive client success and business growth through expert communication and persuasive insurance policy analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and control a variety of claims within the Cargo portfolio from first advice to final settlement.
  • Identify risk, review coverage, acknowledge clients, prepare claims files, and maintain computerised records upon receipt of claim notification.
  • Produce claims information and present to insurers or clients in written or networked formats, and handle resultant queries.
  • Monitor insurer agreement and payment of funds, ensuring timely payment to the beneficiary.
  • Report claims difficulties immediately to management.
  • Ensure relevant insurer instructions are communicated to clients/experts and vice versa.
  • Build relationships with clients, experts, and insurers through prompt, friendly, and professional interactions.
  • Liaise effectively with placing colleagues, providing claims statistics for renewals and participating in sales/onboarding processes.
  • Liaise with accounting colleagues regarding fund collection/payment and clearance of accounting entries.
  • Stay updated on market and system changes, building a strong market network within the energy claims community.
  • Monitor workload and report to management as appropriate.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience with a broker, insurer, or loss adjuster handling cargo stock throughput claims.
  • Alternatively, experience in other specialty lines such as energy, FAJS, or marine will be considered.
  • Applicants without directly relevant insurance experience may be considered if they demonstrate a strong desire to learn and develop their career in insurance.
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and ambitious – willing to take on challenges and grow technically and professionally.
