About the Role

The Strategic Negotiation team secures infrastructure for Google's future, including underwater cables and data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you will combine deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions for Google's infrastructure growth. You will work with project teams on agreements, manage vendor relationships, and present recommendations to leadership. Your successful negotiations can save Google millions in operating costs and impact the entire business.

Responsibilities

Work with internal and external technical teams to identify, define, and pursue initiatives necessary to meet Google's ongoing data center needs, including agreement of necessary utility connections (e.g., power, water, etc.) at existing and new green or brownfield sites.
Monitor progress against objectives, providing regular status reports and advocating financial metrics to support both site and infrastructure related portfolio decisions.
Manage the strategy for ongoing growth at existing regions and sites.
Develop metrics for mapping, tracking, and advocating of a broad range of portfolio management issues regarding site/infrastructure development.
Foster an open workplace for colleagues in day-to-day interactions and conversations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
10 years of experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial data center projects.
Experience with power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, industrial-class electrical and cooling technology, or other related technical areas.
Experience managing utility agreements and energy-related issues.
Experience in financial modeling and implementing clean energy initiatives.
Experience in indirect taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, agreement drafting, and presentation development.

Experience Level

10 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
10 years of experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial data center projects.

Education Level

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Salary/Compensations

$176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity
