About the Role
The Strategic Negotiation team secures infrastructure for Google's future, including underwater cables and physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you will combine deep market knowledge with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions for Google's infrastructure growth. You will work with project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships, and presenting agreement recommendations to Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations can save Google millions in operating costs and impact the entire business. This role is on the front lines of securing physical infrastructure for Google's global products, requiring expertise in data center real estate, complex commercial negotiations, financial modeling, and driving multi-million-dollar transactions.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end negotiation and execution of high-value real estate agreements, colocation leases, power purchase agreements, and joint ventures.
- Architect commercial models like NNN leases and sales-leasebacks, negotiating business terms with Legal and Finance to mitigate long-term operational risks.
- Conduct research and modeling to assess capacity needs and strategic expansion markets, while cultivating relationships with key colocation providers and developers.
- Build business cases using Net Present Value (NPV) and Return on Investment (ROI) metrics, presenting agreement summaries to executive leadership to justify multi-million-dollar investments and secure approvals.
- Interface between internal technical teams and external partners, implementing tracking systems to align infrastructure needs with commercial reality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
- Experience negotiating legal and commercial agreements.
- Experience conducting agreement negotiations.
- Experience working across organizational boundaries.
- Experience managing entity structures.

- US: $176000 - $256000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
