About the Role
SS&C Financial Services is seeking experienced candidates with a strong fund accounting background to perform an Associate Manager Role. The position involves proactively owning key client relationships, participating in strategically focused projects, and owning and being responsible for various assigned funds. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Daily accounting of cash and position activity to ensure timely booking of transactions, including researching differences between internal and custodian postings.
- Daily surveillance of internal and external emails to ensure client requests and questions are addressed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with various support teams such as reconciliation, loan servicing, and corporate actions teams to resolve issues hindering client deliverables.
- Various activity reporting including new fund purchases, paydowns, new investment commitments, debt borrowings made, yield calculations, and other analytics.
- Monthly and/or quarterly NAV production of assigned funds and supporting schedules.
- Timely escalation of breaks or issues.
- Managing and assisting on various ad-hoc requirements and small to medium-sized project management.
- Identifying efficiency improvements of ongoing processes and potential gaps.
- Coordinate and assist in audit proceedings and financial statement preparation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for any escalated P&L and NAV issues.
- Contributing to internal project initiatives regarding new product development, testing, and implementation.
- Establish and drive strong relationships with clients and maintain regular client contact to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Develop a culture of continuous efficiency improvements resulting in increased capacity.
- Active member of the team that looks to help others out as time allows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Master’s degree is a strong plus.
- CPA is a strong plus.
- 4-6 years’ experience in Accounting or Back Office Operations working for a Prime Broker, Administrator, Hedge Fund, Investment Advisor or Audit firm.
- Solid prior experience with various products including equities, fixed income, repurchase agreements, futures, FX, Mortgages and options.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge.
- Solid knowledge of corporate actions.
- Ability to delegate effectively.
