About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Corer to join our Geotechnical Solutions team, supporting MER operations and concrete coring activities nationwide. This hands-on role offers opportunities to learn new skills, gain qualifications, and advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Support MER Operatives with mobilisation, excavation, and reinstatement activities.
- Prepare sites, including clearing areas, setting up barriers, and maintaining safe access.
- Perform concrete coring, including setting up equipment, preparing work areas, and handling core samples.
- Core in different diameters and depths.
- Support the operation of concrete core drilling equipment under instruction and training.
- Assist with measuring, marking out, and positioning coring locations.
- Handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
- Perform backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement of excavated areas.
- Keep equipment clean, maintained, and report any defects.
- Follow site-specific RAMS, safety procedures, and environmental requirements.
- Participate in toolbox talks, briefings, and daily safety checks.
- Maintain clean, tidy, and safe work areas.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Concrete coring.
- Basic understanding of excavation and reinstatement.
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic site equipment.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual work in different weather conditions.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Good teamworking and communication skills.
- CSCS card.
- Full UK driving licence.
