About the Role
The Portfolio Management team is responsible for implementing Dimensional’s investment philosophy, ensuring client portfolios maintain desired exposure, and educating clients on the firm's investment approach. Analysts support the day-to-day needs of the team, covering core functions like corporate action analysis, market news review, and daily fund oversight. This role offers significant learning opportunities, project collaboration, and a path towards becoming a portfolio manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Portfolio Managers and Analysts globally on equities, corporate actions, cash balances, and portfolio holdings.
- Monitor and analyze securities for significant changes.
- Assist with portfolio reporting, including returns, market value calculations, and characteristics.
- Undertake special projects such as portfolio analysis, index analysis, and ad-hoc data requests.
- Propose and develop improvements to existing business processes.
- Communicate substantively with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Operations, DFA global offices, and custodian banks.
Requirements
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, highly motivated, and able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, be adaptable, and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to absorb and apply information from formal and informal learning experiences.
- Interest in financial markets and academic research related to the field.
Skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Prior exposure to programming and/or databases (Python, SQL, VBA) preferred
