About the Role
Challenge yourself to make a difference and contribute to the safety and reliability of our fleet using NDT techniques. Permanent opportunities are available with Qantas Engineering. Work with a dedicated team using advanced inspection technologies across a diverse aircraft fleet.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Non-Destructive Testing inspections using approved methods and procedures.
- Perform inspections on aircraft structures, components and systems in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Interpret, evaluate and document inspection results accurately.
- Identify defects and provide technical recommendations to support maintenance activities.
- Maintain NDT equipment in accordance with calibration and operational requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Collaborate effectively with maintenance teams and other engineering specialists.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Non-Destructive Testing.
- Demonstrated NDT certification in one or more methods (such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Phased Array Ultrasonic and Radiography).
- Demonstrated experience conducting NDT inspections within an aviation, aerospace or similarly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance practices and inspection procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating shift roster.
- Existing Australian working rights preferred.
