About the Role
As the DSA Manager for the Spark team in the Help Experience (HEX) domain, you will build, grow, and lead the team's Data Science & Analytics group. The Help Experience domain owns the end-to-end journey of how members discover, access, and resolve help. The Spark team owns support agent tooling, aiming to improve support resolution quality by making agent tools faster, smarter, and more effective.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and design the Spark DSA team, including hiring, mentoring, and structuring Decision and Data Scientists.
- Adapt organizational design for resilience and wellbeing.
- Join cross-functional hiring with Engineering, Product, and Design.
- Develop people through situational leadership, mentoring staff across seniority levels, and identifying career paths.
- Drive a direct feedback culture and protect team health daily.
- Own the measurement of support quality by defining clear metrics for agent and vendor resolution quality.
- Translate quality signals into actionable coaching, routing, and operations decisions.
- Drive the DSA standard and a cultural turnaround by raising rigor in experimentation, analytics, and ML modeling.
- Adopt industry best practices and lead post-experiment reviews.
- Ensure high, sustainable team performance by accelerating experimentation and model deployment.
- Co-create vision and strategy for Spark, HEX, and the DSA function.
- Translate strategy into tactical plans, balancing risks and trade-offs.
- Partner as an equal across functions with Product, Engineering, Design, and Support Ops.
- Challenge roadmaps with evidence and balance strategy with hands-on problem solving.
Requirements
- Strong experience in a Decision Science, Data Analytics, or Data Science role.
- Experience leading or mentoring others (manager, tech lead, or similar).
- Ability to grow people by tailoring leadership, giving candid feedback, and protecting team wellbeing.
- Ability to network with peer managers to expand skills.
- Ability to translate strategy into actionable tactical plans.
- Ability to zoom out to evaluate trade-offs, weigh risks, and see the bigger picture.
- Ability to steer the team toward high-impact problems despite ambiguity or competing demands.
- Thrive on hard measurement challenges, such as creating fair quality metrics for agents and vendors.
- Set high standards across Decision Science and Data Science.
- Skilled in SQL, Python, inferential stats (A/B testing, causal inference), and production ML.
- Enforce clean, reproducible code and stay hands-on when needed.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English.
- Ability to explain complex ideas with nuance and adapt style to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Natural collaborator who promotes a collaborative culture.
- Drive cross-functional and cross-domain work.
- Act as an equal partner to EPDA and Operations peers.
- Care deeply about members, people, and leading by example on Vinted's values.
