About the Role
The Florida Senate is seeking candidates for a District Legislative Aide position to support one of forty Senators in various work locations across Florida. This role involves assisting with administrative and public relations matters, requiring a strong understanding of the Florida Legislature's operations. The position is not eligible for telework and may require travel within the district and to Tallahassee.
Responsibilities
- Assist a Senator with a variety of administrative and public relations matters.
- Physically report to an office location in Florida for work.
- Travel within an assigned district and/or to Tallahassee as required.
Requirements
- For Salaried positions: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative experience.
- For Salaried positions: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the one year of required experience.
- For Salaried positions: Professional or nonprofessional administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
- For Temporary/Hourly OPS positions: A high school diploma or its equivalent, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and work experience.
- Full-time salaried Legislative Aides are required to electronically file a Form 1 – Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.
