About the Role

The Secretary is looking for an experienced 11/12 Executive Officer to join the team to provide a wide range of high-level support, while at the same time, helping shape the new structure of the office for the future. This role will work on a range of projects and deliverables and provide strategic and policy advice to the Secretary, including acting as a conduit with the executive leadership team. You will be a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and use your proactive nature to ensure high quality briefings and advice are provided to the Secretary and deadlines are met. This role might also need to manage issues which straddle various elements of the portfolio, bringing strong co-ordination, research, analysis and policy skills to provide recommendations to the Secretary.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Current 11/12 looking for an at-level development opportunity.
  • Experienced policy professional with a good understanding of Cabinet, Parliamentary processes and ministerial offices.
  • Proven ability to critically analyze and review policies, briefings and media.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Confidence to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to contentious and emerging issues to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience with government protocols and procedures.
  • High-level organizational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks and follow through on goals.
