About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Linkapps squad, responsible for building integrations that allow creators to incorporate their digital world into their Linktree. This role involves full-stack development, focusing on designing and shipping services, APIs, and product surfaces for these integrations. You will work closely with partner APIs and SDKs, ensuring integration robustness and identifying opportunities for generalization. This is a hands-on individual contributor role within a small, distributed team, providing direct exposure to partners and creator-facing features. Your work will impact millions of users, often being the key to a Linktree's comprehensive functionality, and will contribute to Linktree's mission of empowering users to curate and grow their digital universe.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features across the Linkapps surface, from partner-facing services to creator-facing elements.
- Own third-party integrations end-to-end, including API/SDK evaluation, design, shipping, and production maintenance.
- Ship within and improve the composable Link Apps system to reduce the cost of future integrations.
- Design and maintain services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure with attention to auth, rate limits, versioning, and graceful degradation.
- Collaborate with product, design, and partnerships to assess technical feasibility and identify creator value.
- Instrument shipped features and use data to guide improvements and decisions.
- Integrate AI into the development process and potentially into the integrations themselves.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture through clear writing, effective reviews, and code improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production full-stack features.
- Solid full-stack skills in TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, and AWS.
- Ability to work end-to-end on features.
- Meaningful experience integrating third-party APIs and SDKs, including managing production integrations and associated complexities (auth, rate limits, versioning, outages).
- Comfortable working within a large, established codebase and exercising judgment on safe changes.
- Experience designing services and APIs in cloud-based, service-oriented architectures.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and techniques (prompting, iteration, validation, refinement).
- Ability to handle ambiguity and translate loosely defined opportunities into shipped, measured features.
- High standard for craft, paying attention to details like empty states, error messages, and loading indicators.
- Clear, async-first communication skills, with experience collaborating across product, design, partnerships, business stakeholders, and remote teammates.
- Based in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney or remote) preferred.
