About the Role

The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) seeks a Campus Director to oversee program coordination of publicly funded youth development initiatives at Waters Edge Educational Campus HS. This role involves managing staff, facilitating workshops, providing guidance and counseling, and ensuring program deliverables are met.

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between CPC and stakeholders, including funding agencies, school leadership, community members, and community partners.
Oversee program coordination of publicly funded youth development initiatives at Waters Edge Educational Campus HS.
Hire, lead, and support a diverse and talented team of program staff.
Plan and facilitate social-emotional learning, interactive projects-based learning, career-readiness, college readiness, and basic life-skills workshops, participant orientation, and worksite orientation components.
Provide individualized guidance and counseling, case management services, and internship placement based on interest/career goals.
Ensure the program meets target enrollment numbers, deliverables, and DYCD audit requirements.
Oversee family engagement, wellness education, workshops, referrals, and supportive services designed to strengthen family well-being.
In collaboration with school leadership, plan and develop project-based learning experiences tailored to meet the developmental needs of younger youth aged 14-15; and work-based learning experiences for older youth aged 16-24.
Cultivate a diverse portfolio of public, private, and non-profit worksites.
Develop community partnerships with other youth-serving and supportive service organizations.
Support school with implementing a comprehensive participant outreach, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and placement strategy.
Administer program budget and monitor expenditures.
Ensure proper reporting and communications with government agencies.
Comply with DYCD policies and administrative procedures.
Promote a positive workplace culture; convene regular team meetings and check-ins with school leadership to assess program progress and challenges.
Assist the Director/Deputy Director of ECS, or school leadership with special projects and other strategic priorities as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Prior experience working with High School youth in an after-school setting

Skills

Culturally competent professional committed to providing services in a manner that is sensitive to participants’ cultural heritage and traditions, life experiences, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for working with diverse populations, especially immigrant and low-income communities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and Webex.
Willingness to travel to worksites via public transportation.
Fluency in Arabic, Spanish, or Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is a plus.

After-School Program (NDA Water’s Edge): CPC’s after-school programming at Waters Edge Educational Campus includes academic enrichment, cultural and recreational services that provide youth participants with rich and meaningful experiences, while equipping them with the resources, support and guidance needed for continued success throughout high school and beyond.
NDA Healthy Families: The Healthy Families program aims to support and strengthen families using a holistic, strength-based approach based on the principles of family development.
The target population is youth, adults, and families.
If a youth enrolls as an individual, the minimum age is 14.
Required activities are Access Services and Family Development Coaching.
Programs may also choose to provide Education/Career Counseling, Emergency Services, Employment Assistance, Family Budgeting and Consumer Education, Individual Family Housing Advocacy, Individual/Family Housing Assistance, Legal Assistance, Parent Skills Training, and Review of Child Support Status.
Career Ready (SYEP) Funded through the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), SYEP Program provides students between the ages of 14 to 21 with project-based learning opportunities and paid, summer work experience for up to six weeks in July and August.
Youth aged 14-15 are engaged in projects that provide enriching career exploration, emphasize foundational work readiness skills, and help build social emotional learning skills.
Youth aged 16-21 are placed in entry-level positions across a variety of sectors and industries.
All participants are provided with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, continuing education and other life skills.
Work, Learn and Grow Program (WLG): Funded through the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), offers young people ages 16-19 from public schools in New York City an opportunity to strengthen work readiness skills, explore career, receive academic support, including guidance on postsecondary education and potential to earn college credits and paid internships.
