About the Role
Design and develop project data models aligned to the Enterprise Information Model using conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Contribute to the development and management of project and enterprise data models, standards, and processes, ensuring compliance with Enterprise data policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop project data models that meet organizational needs and align to the Enterprise Information Model.
- Contribute to the development and management of project and enterprise data models.
- Develop and manage data modelling standards and processes.
- Apply data modelling standards and processes in the project delivery process.
- Ensure compliance with Enterprise data policies and guidelines.
- Gather requirements and analytics use cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts, data engineers, and developers, to gather requirements and refine data models.
Requirements
- Significant years of experience in IT.
- Sound experience in a data modeller and/or similar role.
- Solid experience leading the creation of data models.
- Solid experience managing project data modelling delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in Azure or other cloud-based data and analytics data platforms.
- Proven experience and competency in using Erwin as the data modelling tool.
- Broad expertise across data modelling capabilities, principles, and policies.
- Adaptability in working in multiple industry segments, with a preference for the utilities industry.
- Ability to deal with organizational ambiguity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional integrity, professionalism, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Creativity and a passion for discovering and adopting new ways of working.
Skills
- Extensive understanding of Logical Data Models, Physical Data Models, and Dimension Models.
- Ability to deliver Logical Models and Physical Designs.
- Intimate knowledge of data warehousing with respect to various data methodologies (e.g., Data Vault, 3rd Normal Form, Kimball).
- Strong knowledge and experience with industry reference data models (e.g., Teradata-FSLDM, IBM-Industry financial or utilities model).
- Experience using industry data models to deliver data models for a company.
- Deep understanding and experience of enterprise modern data architecture patterns and processes.
- Good understanding in the creation and management of data management principles, data modelling, and data naming standards.
- Suitable understanding of data ingestion, data consumption, data access & authorization, ETL design, and framework knowledge.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
- Ability to gather requirements and analytics use cases.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, including business analysts, data engineers, and developers.
- Refining data models.
Experience Level
- Significant years of experience in IT
- Sound experience in a data modeller and/or similar role
- Solid experience leading the creation of data model and managing the project data modelling delivery
Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of data model and design for Data and analytics project delivery
- Certification or proven experience in data architecture / modelling using Industry model
