About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and personable Forward Deployed Engineer to build strong client relationships and deliver technical solutions. This role combines programming expertise with a deep understanding of the insurance/insurtech space, comprising engineering, sales, and client success. You will be responsible for proof of value/pilot projects that are pivotal to our growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Analyze prospective partners’ (pilot projects) and clients’ business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using our domain-specific spreadsheet-like functional programming language called Brossa.
- Codify, configure, and deliver formal specifications of insurance products in various lines of business (marine, aviation, political violence, etc).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions that align with the strategic goals of the client, and customize and configure our technology to achieve this.
- Develop a deep understanding of our suite of products to provide strategic guidance and recommendations.
- Demonstrate product value to key internal and client stakeholders.
- Build and manage platform integrations while providing ongoing technical support.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in programming
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to excel in a fast-changing scale-up environment with all the ambiguities this presents: flexibility will be needed
- Solutions-driven and always looking at how processes can be improved
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to our platform
- Collaborative skills with an emphasis on product quality.
- Experience in insurtech, insurance or related industries.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a distributed work environment.
- Background checks may include a criminal record check, reviewing credit history, speaking with previous employers, and confirming academic qualifications.
