About the Role
DrAnsay is expanding its finance function and requires a dedicated individual to oversee it entirely. This role is newly created to manage the increasing finance workload, including ongoing accounting, financial statements, controlling setup, and the implementation of BMD, demanding a leadership presence the organization currently lacks. You will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to implement initiatives proactively.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end finance responsibility: ongoing accounting, financial statements, controlling, processes, and systems.
- Prepare and submit financial statements on time with the tax advisor, including identifying and correcting historical booking errors.
- Stabilize ongoing accounting and month-end closing: establish routines, clear responsibilities, and reliable figures by a defined deadline.
- Build controlling from scratch: budget, forecast, cost and revenue transparency, and monthly reporting to enable management decisions.
- Define and enforce budget and approval processes: specify who approves what, at what threshold, with traceable documentation.
- Implement BMD as the leading accounting and controlling system and align all finance-related processes accordingly.
- Set up a document management system for financial records, including filing logic, access rights, and deadline overviews.
- Lead the internal accounting unit and independently coordinate with external tax and legal advisors.
- Optionally, prepare for investment readiness, build a data room, and compile financial documents for investors or transactions.
Requirements
- Several years of operational finance responsibility in German-speaking regions, with hands-on experience preparing and submitting financial statements.
- Experience taking over a disorganized finance structure with old bookings, missing documents, and undocumented processes.
- Experience building controlling and budget processes in a company where they did not previously exist.
- Daily practical work with an accounting or ERP system like BMD, DATEV, or similar.
- Proficient understanding of German tax and deadline regulations and independent collaboration with tax advisors.
- Fluent German and English (written and spoken).
- Residence and work permit in Germany or Austria.
- Willingness to handle details personally; this role involves doing, not just delegating.
