Wegmans cashiers ensure customers have a positive checkout experience by providing proactive customer service in both traditional and self-checkout lanes. This role aims to leave a lasting impression and foster customer loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers in friendly conversation, make eye contact, smile, and offer additional assistance.
- Thank customers for shopping at Wegmans.
- Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments.
- Properly bag items to ensure product condition.
- Manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area.
- Direct customers to available lanes.
- Ensure self-checkout lanes are in good working order.
- Assist customers with self-checkout system troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace.
