About the Role
As Director of Agent Operations, you will build and lead the team responsible for deploying AI agents to manage complex healthcare workflows. You will oversee delivery from discovery to launch and continuously enhance agent capabilities in production, directly impacting Valerie's growth and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the team, including hiring, coaching, and establishing standards.
- Translate customer needs into reliable AI agents by leading workflow discovery and defining agent behavior.
- Own agent delivery, guiding the team through workflow design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Expand automation post-launch by analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive cross-functional execution by aligning Engineering, Product, Customer Strategy, and Operations.
- Make implementation and automation repeatable by developing reusable workflows, tests, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- 6-10+ years of experience in consulting, strategy & operations, solutions engineering, technical implementation, analytics, finance, product, or related fields.
- Experience leading teams.
- Hands-on experience at a high-growth startup.
- Proven ability to lead teams through complex work, coach teammates, and maintain high standards for results.
- Demonstrated customer-facing judgment, including uncovering requirements, explaining technical concepts, and setting expectations.
- Hands-on technical judgment, including troubleshooting workflows using SQL, logs, and tests.
- Ability to ship reliable customer-specific code with AI coding tools.
- Strong analytical rigor to identify root causes and use evidence to prioritize tasks.
- High-velocity, hands-on execution skills, including structuring ambiguous work and collaborating across teams.
- Experience deploying or improving AI agents at scale (bonus).
- Experience at a top-tier consulting firm (bonus).
- Experience managing managers and developing new people leaders (bonus).
- Familiarity with healthcare operations, EHRs, or healthcare integrations (bonus).
