About the Role
Basis is seeking a video professional to own video production end-to-end, including in-office studio, podcast production, customer testimonials, event content, recruiting films, and product videos. This role requires a blend of creative and technical skills, from pre-production and shooting to editing and building repeatable workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own video end-to-end, including in-office studio and podcast production.
- Produce customer testimonials shot on location.
- Create conference and event content.
- Develop recruiting and brand films.
- Create product and launch videos.
- Manage platform-native cuts from all video content.
- Handle pre-production, including scoping, shot lists, and camera operation.
- Manage agency and freelance relationships, including scoping, budgeting, and quality control.
- Serve as lead editor, cutting projects and directing external editors.
- Build a repeatable video playbook, including formats, studio workflow, partner selection, and content pipeline.
- Utilize AI across scripting, assembly, and generative assets to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
- Demonstrated end-to-end range in pre-production, production, and post-production.
- Portfolio showcasing both footage shot and edits made.
- Proficiency in camera, lighting, and audio, including multi-camera interviews.
- Ability to direct non-professional talent to sound natural on camera.
- Discipline in pre-production problem-solving.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Track record of scoping, briefing, budgeting, and directing agencies and freelancers.
- Eagerness to use AI in the video workflow.
- Comfort building a video function and its processes from scratch.
- 4-7 years of experience producing and editing video, preferably in-house or at a production company.
- Command of Premiere or Resolve.
- Proficiency in After Effects or equivalent for motion graphics.
- A reel demonstrating both shooting and editing skills.
- Ability to be in the Flatiron office in person 5 days a week (excluding travel).
