About the Role
The Prestige Beauty Advisor (PBA) is responsible for maximizing sales in the prestige category by engaging guests to determine their individual needs and assisting them in the selection and purchase of prestige merchandise. This role supports the Sales Manager by focusing on performance, people, and process, while maintaining overall store standards.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, retail shrink, and omni-channel sales, with a focus on the prestige category.
- Ensure exceptional guest service by creating a guest-friendly environment, greeting and engaging every guest, personalizing service, recommending complementary products/services, and informing guests of current promotions, events, and services.
- Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest service.
- Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events.
- Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about their ingredients and benefits.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training, including prestige and iconic brand product training and brand/category education.
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
- Drive sales by keeping prestige and iconic brand work areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are available and maintained according to hygiene standards.
- Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area, and ensuring makeover stations adhere to company standards.
- Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and processing shipment.
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Cosmetology, esthetician or demonstrator’s license where required by state law.
- 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
- Demonstrates a passion and significant competency for prestige product, guest service, and selling.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend corporate business meetings and conferences, including overnight stays.
