About the Role
The Resident Manager is responsible for the supervision of residents and the overall operation of a 255-unit permanent supportive housing facility for homeless individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. This role ensures resident needs are met and the facility is safe, working collaboratively with the Clinical team and Program Director.
Responsibilities
- Function as a liaison between residents and staff
- Collaborate with security staff to ensure resident safety and well-being
- Perform hourly patrols through the facility
- Manage challenging situations and crises
- Handle incidents and complete Incident Report forms
- Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and Clinical team
- Document events in the appropriate logbook
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings
- Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNY
- Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- At least two years of experience working in a social service or residential setting
- Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer efficient – internet and Microsoft Office
