About the Role

The Residence Manager is responsible for the supervision of residents and the overall operation of the facility during designated shifts, working collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure resident needs are met and the facility is safe. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and an understanding of working with HIV/AIDS populations.

Responsibilities

Manage challenging situations and/or crises that may occur at the facility.
Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff.
Collaborate with the security staff during the tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents.
Handle incidents that may occur at the facility and complete an Incident Report Form, as needed.
Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team and document them in the appropriate logbook.
Attend all mandatory staff meetings.
Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with FDNY.
Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS.
Conduct and document quarterly fire drills.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
Fire Safety certification preferred (F-02 or F-80).
At least two years of experience working in social service or a residential setting.
Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Computer skills including internet and Microsoft Office.
