About the Role
Petual is an AI-powered control tester for modern enterprises, ensuring financial, operational, and technology controls are effective and traceable. The core of this role involves building the harness and evaluation systems that make testing reliable across diverse customer methodologies and complex scenarios, with the ground truth being senior auditor judgment.
Responsibilities
- Own the agent harness at the core of the product, including workflows, checkpoints, and evaluation for reliable long-horizon agent testing.
- Design and own backend services and APIs for evidence processing, from ingestion to auditor-ready output.
- Build integrations with customer systems such as cloud infrastructure, identity providers, ticketing systems, and ERPs.
- Design data models and system architecture to support growth in customer base and control volume.
- Write code and design systems prioritizing security and data integrity for sensitive customer evidence.
- Partner with customers to develop and deliver key features.
Requirements
- Experience building on LLMs and agentic systems, including harnesses, long-horizon agents, evals, or resilient workflows.
- Experience building enterprise SaaS products handling sensitive customer data.
- Comfort working across the full stack, with strong backend fundamentals (APIs, data modeling, distributed systems) and frontend fluency.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience in fintech, audit, governance, risk, compliance, or other regulated environments.
- Proven track record of high ownership at an early- or growth-stage startup, influencing product and process.
