About the Role
As a product leader within the Data Center Strategy Office, you will be responsible for strategic planning, mid-to-long term capacity planning, and data center development to accelerate Rakuten’s Data Center’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and manage data center business plans.
- Formulate long-term growth strategies for data centers.
- Develop strategic synergies across the Rakuten Group with other internal service organizations.
- Formulate strategies for external sales of data centers and cloud services.
- Gather and summarize needs and requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
- Formulate necessary future requirements.
- Plan for optimal data center resource allocation based on needs and required capacity.
- Plan and manage cost allocation for data center resources.
- Formulate medium-to-long-term allocation plans, considering future data center maintenance and operation costs.
- Formulate inventory management and procurement plans aligned with future demand.
- Formulate allocation plans considering data center market prices.
- Formulate data center procurement and development plans linked to allocation strategy.
- Propose, plan, implement, and measure the effectiveness of business efficiency improvements/automation utilizing the latest technologies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic planning and development (Data Center domain preferred).
- Background in complex commercial development (data center industry experience preferred).
- Ability to solve problems using analysis, technical, and organizational expertise.
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong presentation skills.
- Ability to impact and influence stakeholders.
- Strategic approach and a track record of contributing to organizational growth.
- Strong teamwork mentality, working well with internal and external team members.
- Ability to drive execution through collaboration and networking.
