About the Role
Airwallex is seeking an IT Engineer to join our Corporate IT team. This role focuses on driving IT support, engineering, and business engineering functions, with a core emphasis on technology experiences for Airwallex. You will design, build, and run the systems and services that our teams use to build products, serve customers, and run the business. This is a highly collaborative role with global impact, offering a significant opportunity to build a new function within the IT engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary IT engineer for LRC teams, understanding their workflows and building a model to improve and scale their function.
- Build workflows and orchestrations that impact multiple systems and teams.
- Utilize low-code/no-code tools for automation and orchestration (e.g., Workato, Okta Workflows, Zapier).
- Leverage, design, and implement AI, with a focus on the LRC function and in-house legal operations.
- Work with APIs across major vendors (e.g., Okta, Google, GCP, Aliyun).
- Build and enhance the AI portfolio, focusing initially on legal-specific tools and implementation (e.g., Harvey.ai).
- Act as a trusted advisor and expert to the LRC and IT engineering teams.
- Build, enhance, and grow legal applications, serving as the technical owner or primary IT engineer (e.g., Ironclad, Auditboard, Google Workspace).
- Manage and build service desks and orchestrations using Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence).
- Own the full lifecycle of features and products, from proof-of-concept to operations and maintenance.
- Handle escalations from other IT teams.
- Collaborate with INFOSEC, People Ops, Engineering, and IT teams to build scalable systems.
- Integrate tools with new and existing platforms (e.g., cloud, GCP) and across the SaaS portfolio (e.g., SFDC, Slack, Google).
- Build and maintain custom tools or services as needed.
- Respond to incidents as part of an on-call roster or in emergencies.
- Write documentation and maintain diagrams of solutions and applications.
- Collaborate with IT Operations and IT Engineering to fill gaps and support other projects.
- Continuously learn, test, evaluate, and enhance products and offerings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- High trustworthiness and empathy, as the role involves handling privileged information.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction while delivering projects on time, sometimes under aggressive deadlines.
- Strong ability to write technical documents.
- Expert level understanding of common identity standards (SAML, OAuth, SSO).
- Expert knowledge of workflows and common orchestration tools (e.g., Workato).
- Experience with a programming language (e.g., Python) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience with APIs and integrating with common vendors.
- Experience using and understanding cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
- Understanding of RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, ACLs, and common access management principles.
- Experience working with all SaaS-based systems and applications.
- Strong understanding of MDM systems (macOS, Windows; Kandji, JAMF, Intune).
- Ability to move fast and make correct decisions, sometimes without complete information.
