About the Role
The Resident Manager is responsible for the supervision of residents and the overall operation of the residence during designated shifts. This role works collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure resident needs are met and the residence is safe. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
Responsibilities
- Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff
- Collaborate with the Security staff to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents
- Perform hourly patrols in the residence
- Manage any challenging situations and/or crises that may occur at the residence
- Responsible for handling any incidents that may occur at the residence and completing an Incident Report form, as needed
- Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team, as well as document them in the appropriate logbook
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings
- Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with the FDNY
- Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least two years of experience working in a social service, residential setting
- Ability to work independently
Skills
- Working knowledge of substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills – internet and Microsoft Office
