Manhattan family seeking a dependable, experienced driver to assist with daily school transportation for two middle schoolers. The role requires punctuality, safety consciousness, and comfort working with children. There is a potential for additional paid hours assisting a private medical practice with errands and transportation.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, attentive transportation and arrive on time.
- Follow agreed school pickup and drop-off procedures.
- Ensure children are properly secured with appropriate seat belts or booster seats.
- Communicate promptly about arrivals, delays, and schedule changes.
- Keep the vehicle clean and comfortable.
- Respect the family’s privacy and maintain a professional, friendly manner.
- Perform local errands, supply pickups, deliveries, and occasional scheduled airport transportation for patients of a private medical practice (optional).
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a strong, verifiable safe driving record.
- Experience driving in Manhattan.
- Previous experience as a family driver, chauffeur, or in another role involving children.
- Excellent reliability, communication, and judgment.
- Professional references.
- Willingness to complete appropriate driving-record and background screening.
- Ability to use own vehicle or require a family-provided vehicle.
- Provide a brief introduction describing driving experience, experience working with children, and availability.
- Indicate vehicle preference (own or family-provided) and if own, include make, model, and year.
- Indicate preference for school transportation only or interest in additional daytime work.
