About the Role

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Paralegal to support the Columbia Threadneedle Investments registered investment companies. This role involves performing legal and regulatory activities under attorney direction.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the creation, updating, and filing of registration statements, post-effective amendments, prospectuses, statements of additional information (SAIs), and other disclosure documents.
  • Solicit and coordinate input for disclosure documents from business lines, outside counsel, and accountants.
  • Provide legal and regulatory support for the investment advisory business, including collective investment trusts, SEC regulations, Ameriprise Financial entities, and corporate governance.
  • Collaborate with other members of Asset Management Legal and various business lines.
  • Work as part of a team of lawyers and paralegals supporting Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree plus paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply legal requirements for registered investment companies.
  • Mature, professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedicated team player.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred).
  • Experience supporting an asset management business (preferred).
  • Must have valid work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship.
