About the Role

RSM US Corporate Tax assists multinational businesses and privately held companies with US tax regulations, including structuring, compliance, tax-saving opportunities, and cross-border matters. This role focuses on technical expertise, people management, and client service.

Responsibilities

  • Review complex 1120s, 1065s, 1120-F branch and treaty-based returns.
  • Review SALT returns.
  • Manage all aspects of client needs, from PBC requests to final billing.
  • Serve as a Performance Advisor, mentor, or coach to staff, providing timely feedback (10-20% of time).
  • Train and develop staff members (10-20% of time).
  • Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns, including PFICs, 8865s, 8858s, 1042s, 1099s, 5471s, 5472s.
  • Work on multiple complex issues, communicating non-technically to facilitate client and team understanding while managing risk.
  • Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for designated clients.
  • Advise clients on corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and M&A.
  • Review research findings to ensure consistency with firm policies and professional standards.
  • Assist with new business development and identify extended service opportunities for existing clients.
  • Manage corporate client needs regarding tax services and federal/state tax compliance.
  • Stay current on tax practices and changes in tax law.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree, preferably in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Public Accounting.
  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or gather necessary information.
  • Experience with S-Corps, C-Corps, or Partnerships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry specialization is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
