About the Role

As a Physical Therapist in our School Age Program, you will be a vital component of a robust interdisciplinary team, responsible for providing all aspects of Physical Therapy services including direct services, screenings, assessments, evaluations, and documentation to ensure optimal outcomes for students.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, assess, or screen clients using appropriate standardized testing and clinical observational skills
Provide physical therapy services according to mandated paperwork (i.e. IEP’s, IFSP, etc.)
Provide required documentation for services that your program and/or supervisor have outlined for you
Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner
Attend all meetings as scheduled and collaborate with other professionals, staff and families
Maintain and update professional knowledge, skills and abilities through continuing education, in-service training or higher education
Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic, orthotic and adaptive equipment devices
Consult with equipment technicians, physicians or others related to the clients needs
Other duties as assigned
Modify the area to secure the safety of the children i.e. move/push tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs
Lift/Move 20 lbs (mats)
Run after a student up to 500 feet
Kneel, twist and bend
Respond to fire alarms

Requirements

Licensed in physical therapy by NYSED with current registration
Doctorate in physical therapy from accredited university or college
Experience treating children with I/DD preferred
