About the Role
Your Place is seeking an experienced and values-driven Service Manager to lead LB Newham Core and Intensive Support Accommodation services. This role oversees high-quality supported accommodation for vulnerable single homeless adults, including those with complex needs, multiple disadvantages, and high levels of risk. The position provides operational leadership, ensuring excellent contract delivery, safeguarding, performance management, quality assurance, and resident outcomes. It involves leading and developing staff teams, promoting trauma-informed and strengths-based practice, and ensuring effective resident support from assessment to long-term tenancy sustainment. Collaboration with commissioners, housing providers, health services, and community partners is key to driving service improvement and strengthening pathways to independence.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership across both services.
- Ensure excellent contract delivery, safeguarding, performance management, quality assurance, and resident outcomes.
- Lead and develop staff teams.
- Promote trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
- Ensure residents receive effective support from assessment through to move-on and long-term tenancy sustainment.
- Drive service improvement.
- Maintain high performance standards.
- Strengthen pathways that help residents build independence and prevent repeat homelessness.
- Participate in an on-call rota.
- Undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
Requirements
- Management experience within supported housing, homelessness, social care, or a related sector.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, mental health, substance misuse, and tenancy sustainment.
- Experience managing performance, quality assurance, contracts, and service improvement.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Ability to promote a positive, inclusive, and learning-focused culture.
- Excellent partnership-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Must pass an Enhanced DBS check.
- Must provide satisfactory references.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
