About the Role

Jabil is seeking a Lead Hardware/ Software Test Development Engineer to directly contribute to the validation test solutions for server hardware manufacturing facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of hardware products in a large-scale production environment. You will be responsible for contributing to the end-to-end architecture, definition, development, and production deployment of production software applications and infrastructure spanning multiple customers and manufacturing regions. You will also interface with internal engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, as well as end customers, to ensure software deliverables meet rigorous standards.

Responsibilities

Design and develop test systems for hardware validation in high-volume manufacturing environments, including server-level (L10) and rack-level (L11/L12) systems.
Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts to assess the functionality and performance of hardware components such as motherboard, memory, CPU, storage (SSD, HDD, NVMe), and PCIE devices (NIC, GPU, Mezz cards, RAID cards).
Create, validate, release, and maintain test software and scripts to automate the testing process, including code for controlling test equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and generating test reports.
Support and maintain manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11-L12) level test software and infrastructure deployed at production facilities.
Implement minor system configuration changes for new product variants or revisions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of test procedures, specifications, and infrastructure for manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11-L12).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to align testing requirements and quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a role related to manufacturing test development/sustaining with enterprise server, storage or networking products.
Linux development expertise with a solid understanding of its fundamentals (CentOS, Ubuntu).
Hardware and API solutions for controlling, managing and stressing L10 devices (servers, network and storage SSDs, NVMe) including IPMI, Redfish, mprime, FIO, Linpack, ptugen, memtester, iperf.
Creation and configuration (DHCP, PXE boot, nginx) of Virtual Machines (VMs) using VMWare.
Experience with server hardware interaction, validation, and configuration.
Hands-on experience with hardware-based validation and manufacturing test systems.
Experience with code versioning tools (Git preferred).
Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Experience working in multi-site and multi-cultural environments.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
