About the Role
The After-School Clubhouse program seeks responsible and caring individuals to work as Counselors or afterschool class assistants. The program provides a safe and welcoming environment for children ages 4-10, aiming to raise thoughtful community members while recognizing individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Pick up children from local schools on the Upper West Side and escort them to the JCC
- Work with a team to provide a safe and fun environment and create a positive classroom culture for children in the Clubhouse program
- Assist with age-appropriate activities for children ages 4-10
- Assist with afterschool specialty classes as needed
- Follow each child's daily schedule of activities and ensure prompt arrival and pickup from classes
- Close collaboration with lead counselors and supervisors
- Attend program orientation and staff development meetings every other month
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- Prior experience working with children 4-10 years old
- Ability to commit to working Mondays - Thursdays, 2:30-5:30 pm, from September 2026-June 2027
