About the Role
Digantara U.S. is seeking an experienced and driven Data Science Engineer to develop machine-learning components and integration infrastructure for SDA analytics pipelines. The role involves building trajectory-classification and anomaly-detection models, maintaining evaluation frameworks, and ensuring models are deployable within onboard resource limits.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI/ML models for trajectory classification and anomaly detection.
- Integrate and maintain analytical pipelines, defining interfaces and owning the codebase.
- Build benchmarking and evaluation frameworks for estimator convergence, classification accuracy, and sensitivity to track gaps.
- Design experiments to distinguish genuine generalization from dataset artifacts.
- Produce calibrated confidence metrics for operational use.
- Characterize model complexity, memory footprint, and inference latency with embedded-systems staff.
- Contribute machine-learning inputs to CONOPS and systems-engineering activities.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Aerospace Engineer, Physics, or a related quantitative field, plus 4+ years of applied ML experience (or equivalent).
- Strong Python and scientific stack (NumPy, SciPy, pandas); fluency in at least one deep-learning framework (PyTorch preferred).
- Demonstrated experience building ML systems on time-series, sequential, or state-estimation-adjacent data.
- Sound evaluation methodology including class imbalance, calibration, and uncertainty quantification.
- Software-engineering discipline sufficient for a shared codebase: version control, testing, reproducible environments, and documented interfaces.
- Clear technical writing for customer-facing deliverables.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
- Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
- Verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Travel occasionally as necessary.
