Responsibilities
- Handle all customer inquiries, requests, and complaints regarding the establishment and maintenance of electric service.
- Determine, prepare, and perform demand, load factor, projected revenue, proper metering equipment, rate application, service deposits, agreements for electric extensions, application of tariffs, rules and regulations, codes, and standards.
- Secure easements and communicate company programs and service inspections.
- Apply technical expertise and company construction standards, design and application standards, procedures, and guides to plan, design, prepare sketches, cost estimates, and necessary orders for electric transmission and distribution facilities.
- Act as a coordinator for work orders and coordinate activities to provide timely customer service.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science from an accredited engineering or technological school.
- Electrical background/utility experience is preferred.
- Curriculums must be from an ABET or equivalent accredited engineering or technical school or program.
- A valid US driver's license.
- ADM Exam.
- Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
- Successful applicant must prove they are a US citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, a citizen/national/permanent resident of a 'Generally Authorized' destination and not a citizen/national/permanent resident of any country not listed, or a 'Protected Individual' under the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) if the position requires access to information covered by 10 CFR 810.
- May be required to perform functions different from normal operations and work extended hours during storm/outage restoration efforts.
- May be required to work onsite or in an alternate location as directed by the company during storm/outage restoration efforts.
- Adherence to PSEG's drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, for cause, and post-incident testing.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing (inclusive of marijuana) if hired or transferred into a federally regulated role.
- Prohibition of marijuana/cannabis product use for employees in federally regulated roles.
- Use of CBD products may result in a positive drug test for THC/Marijuana and is not a legitimate medical explanation.
