About the Role
Community Medical and Dental Care, a non-profit community health center in Rockland County, NY, is seeking an Occupational Therapist specializing in Pelvic Floor Therapy to join our multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Facilitate development and rehabilitation by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy specifically tailored to pelvic health and its impact on activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Help patients regain physical functioning and independence through therapeutic exercise, biofeedback, manual therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
- Evaluate therapy results by observing, noting, and assessing patient progress; recommend and implement necessary adjustments to the plan of care.
- Ensure continuity of care by instructing patients and caregivers in specialized home exercise programs and providing education for at-home care.
Requirements
- Current NY State Occupational Therapy license
- Demonstrated experience or certification in Pelvic Floor Therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to discuss sensitive health topics with empathy and professionalism.
