Responsibilities
- Evaluates technical requirements of new and existing electrical and RF process and support power products.
- Recommends materials to Design Engineering based on knowledge of qualified sources and products to achieve savings, lead time reductions, system improvements, increased life, and/or mitigated risk.
- Works with New Product Development teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and effective communication of expectations to suppliers.
- Participates with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in specification development and review, promoting design for manufacturability.
- Continuously involved in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base offering competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery, and technology.
- Leads the supplier technical audit process, evaluates supplier performance and capability, and drives continuous improvement opportunities at suppliers.
- Trains other supplier engineers on the supplier audit and evaluation process.
- Leads supplier quality problem resolutions and incident management, driving root cause and corrective action.
- Identifies and drives broad-based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
- Assists in cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers and supply markets to ensure a competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in Semiconductor equipment process power and electrical systems products.
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
- Leads others to solve complex problems using sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
- Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view.
