About the Role

Seeking a creative and organized Designer, Sleepwear to develop innovative sleepwear collections from concept to execution. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams and requires a blend of creative vision and technical expertise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design trend-right sleepwear collections aligning with customer needs, brand direction, and business objectives.
  • Research and interpret market trends, consumer insights, color direction, fabric innovations, prints, graphics, and silhouettes.
  • Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, CADs, detailed sketches, colorways, and presentation materials.
  • Develop comprehensive tech packs and design packages for communication with cross-functional teams and overseas partners.
  • Partner closely with Product Development, Technical Design, Production, Sales, and Sourcing teams.
  • Source and recommend fabrics, trims, treatments, prints, and embellishments.
  • Participate in fittings and sample reviews, ensuring design integrity, garment construction, fit, and quality.
  • Review and approve lab dips, strike-offs, print submissions, fabric qualities, and prototypes.
  • Manage multiple seasonal calendars, maintaining awareness of key milestones and deadlines.
  • Present concepts, line reviews, and product updates to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Analyze competitive market offerings to identify innovation and differentiation opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of retailer-specific requirements, customer preferences, and market trends.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Assistant and Associate Designers.
  • Delegate development and administrative tasks while maintaining ownership of seasonal design direction and account strategy.
  • Support a collaborative team environment and contribute to the division's growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 4+ years of apparel design experience, with direct experience in sleepwear required.
  • Experience in loungewear, intimate apparel, or adjacent categories is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and product development processes.
  • Proven ability to create detailed tech packs and communicate design intent effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; Photoshop proficiency preferred.
  • Experience working within PLM systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to proactively manage seasonal calendars and key milestones.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience designing for Walmart or other large-volume retailers is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Passion for fashion, trends, and product innovation with a strong eye for detail and commercial product development.
  • Portfolio and/or website submission required.
