About the Role
As a Senior Creative Technologist, you will be the Lab's primary builder, acting as an interaction designer, engineer, and researcher. You will transform customer opportunities from brief to working prototypes, building interactions across various touchpoints including interface, voice, device, spatial, and physical. You will engage directly with customers, often managing day-to-day relationships on smaller projects, and bring depth in a making discipline while maintaining the range to work across multiple areas. You value getting functional prototypes in front of users quickly and rigorously testing them with evidence.
Responsibilities
- Turn customer opportunities into buildable concepts, defining users, workflows, decisions, constraints, and hypotheses.
- Map service blueprints and human-agent-system models, detailing roles, knowledge, handoffs, and exceptions.
- Prototype at the lowest useful fidelity, moving from sketches and simulations to coded interfaces, live agents, or fabricated forms.
- Wire data, APIs, models, and tools to demonstrate credible end-to-end prototype behavior.
- Conduct focused research and co-design sessions with customers, users, and subject-matter experts.
- Define and diagnose evidence to identify breakdowns in interaction, workflow, policy, data, or model.
- Present and demonstrate work to customer teams, lead research and co-design sessions, and facilitate executive workshops.
- Act as the day-to-day customer contact on smaller engagements under direction.
- Separate reusable interaction logic, components, agent states, prompts, policies, and evaluation assets from customer-specific examples.
- Package work for pilot and delivery teams, including flows, code, assets, dependencies, risks, and test evidence.
- Experiment with sensors, microcontrollers, edge devices, fabrication, and ambient feedback.
- Utilize the Lab's capacity to test high-upside ideas in human-AI collaboration.
- Own the making within an engagement, including prototype quality, credibility, and learning value.
- Own assigned workstreams and prototypes, including design, technical exploration, build, testing, evidence, and handoff.
- Manage customer sessions related to assigned workstreams and prototypes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in interaction design, HCI, industrial design, computer science, engineering, architecture, or another creative or technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years in creative technology, design technology, interaction design, or software prototyping.
- 2+ years building prototypes for customers or stakeholders under time pressure.
- A portfolio showcasing built prototypes, the questions they answered, and the resulting changes.
- Business-level fluency in English.
- Depth in one craft (HCI, interaction or product design, industrial design, software development, or creative technology) with the ability to build directly in at least one medium.
- Ability to collaborate across code, agents, data, devices, and fabrication.
- Practical AI fluency, including a working grasp of generative and agentic systems.
- An AI-native way of working and the habit of quickly picking up and applying new capabilities responsibly.
- Experience learning with people and turning evidence into concrete changes to an interaction or system.
- Fluency in both design and engineering language.
- Judgment to work with diverse teams including customers, designers, researchers, engineers, and industry experts.
- Healthy habits for seeking feedback and acting on it.
- Comfort presenting, demonstrating, and running sessions with customer teams.
- Judgment to carry a smaller engagement day to day.
