About the Role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of domestic and cross-border M&A, venture capital, growth capital and strategic corporate transactions within the Technology, Media & Communications (TMC) and Gambling team. You will advise founders, growth companies, institutional investors, venture capital funds, private equity houses and corporates. Working alongside leading corporate partners and sector specialists, you will play a key role on high-profile and complex transactions while developing deep TMC sector expertise and building long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

Take the lead role on a huge array of corporate transactions, managing teams of associates and trainees in the London office and teams of lawyers elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
Develop existing and new client relationships, with a freedom to source and develop contacts and prospects without needing partner attendance.
Support the firm in developing its business and raising the profile of the firm in the TMC and Gambling sectors, including opportunities to speak at UK and international industry events and publish content.
Supervise and train mid-level and junior associates and trainees.
Adopt and encourage the adoption of a sophisticated approach to AI usage in your work and that of the team throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Requirements

Excellent drafting skills, often needing to create bespoke documents and mechanisms without relying on precedents.
Ability to translate legal analysis into practical and easy to digest advice.
Sound judgement, strong commercial acumen, good interpersonal and business advisory skills.
Willingness and hunger to become genuinely expert in the TMC and Gambling sectors.
Willingness and interest in using AI tools to enhance your work and efficiency is essential.
Appropriate level of post qualification experience.
Minimum PQE of 5 years.
Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with clients is a must.
Ideally, existing experience of transacting in the TMC and/or Gambling sectors.
Ideally, specific experience of one or both of the sectors (e.g., via experience working in-house or on secondment at a business operating within either sector).
