About the Role

This role provides data-led expert oversight and challenges business and compliance matters to ensure the organization operates in compliance with Barclays' legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities. Reporting to the Head of Transaction Monitoring, the role holder will manage the Financial Crime Investigation team, ensuring effective monitoring and investigation of Financial Crime risk across the BPL client portfolio. The role is accountable for managing transaction monitoring, FinCrime Investigations, SAR review, and financial crime triggered client exits.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess compliance risks through reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing, and systems.
  • Identify and investigate potential market abuse, including Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation, or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
  • Conduct investigations of compliance risk events or breaches.
  • Oversee and challenge corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Implement compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the bank’s internal policies align with international standards and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaborate with 1LOD, other Compliance teams, Legal, and relevant risk management functions for a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Identify, investigate, and oversee potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crime.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies.
  • Manage and maintain policies and processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
