About the Role
82nd Street Academics is seeking part-time Teacher Assistants for its 2026 Summer Programs, supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. The programs will run from early July through mid-August, with training beginning in June 2026. Enrichment activities include arts and crafts, sports, field trips, and more.
Responsibilities
- Support student participation in high-quality programming under the guidance of Lead Teachers and Site Director.
- Serve as role models for students.
- Monitor attendance and implement engagement strategies to increase daily attendance.
- Adhere to policies on attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
- Set a tone of respect in interactions with students, colleagues, families, and staff.
- Communicate with families about concerns and manage school community partnerships.
Requirements
- Plan towards college graduation is required.
- At least one year of experience working with students in a professional setting.
- Commitment to the program through the middle of August is a non-negotiable requirement.
