Responsibilities
- Delivers meals, portions and serves dessert, washes dishes, and cleans/sanitizes equipment.
- Sets up, delivers, and serves meals accurately, timely, orderly, and safely according to client preference, portion sizes, and diet orders.
- Prepares and delivers nourishment and special orders.
- Wraps, date-labels, and stores food items.
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, dishware, and cooking equipment efficiently.
- Cleans and maintains the production area, stove, refrigeration area, dish and pot washing areas, dining room, and servery in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Performs regular and assigned general and special cleaning duties, including floor cleaning.
- Complies with risk management policy for health and safety and GHS.
- Follows protocols, such as temperature logs, to comply with standards from the Ministry, public health, and other regulatory bodies.
- Follows protocols on rotation and utilization of stock and inventory.
- Performs general and special cleaning duties (deep cleaning, refrigerator, blue bin, handwashing sink, work table, etc.) as assigned.
- Removes garbage from the kitchen before the end of the shift and maintains garbage containers, clean linens, and folds cardboard boxes.
- Organizes the janitor room, monitors chemical supplies, and reports for replenishment.
- Replenishes sanitary supplies as appropriate.
- Receives delivery of goods and ensures accuracy.
- Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of, or current enrollment in, a recognized Food Service Worker Program.
- Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
- Some experience in the food services industry.
- Ability to lift heavy industrial-size food trays, pots, and pans.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset.
- Must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.
