About the Role
The Payroll Specialist will support the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring payroll related processes are administered on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities
- Administers processing of organization’s payroll and collects payroll data to maintain accurate payroll records.
- Handles the processing of employee, timesheet, benefits, and other payroll information in the payroll system.
- Assists in proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
- Collaborates with Senior Payroll Manager on accurate and timely processing of payroll related paperwork, including wage garnishments and tax agency notices.
- Issues manual or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll error, direct deposit returns or final discharge.
- Manages the payroll email inbox (FreshDesk ticketing system) and responds to payroll inquiries within 24-48 hours, creating an excellent employee experience.
- Supports Senior Payroll Manager with biweekly, monthly, off-cycle, quarter-end, and year-end payroll processing.
- Prepares payroll reports for senior management or auditing purposes, upon request.
- Participate in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of payroll experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
- Workday and ADP Smart compliance experience preferred.

- $63,000 - $77,000
